Currently residing in La Grande, Oregon, I am a founding member and now the general manager of Waypoint Studio. We are a small artists collective working in a 3000 square foot space that once housed a log truck repair shop.
As a team, we created a facility that supports a broad spectrum of activities. Among these are drawing and painting, photography, woodworking, welding, metal fabrication and casting.
Our newest member has set up his digital media production business, C.H.A. Productions, in the upstairs office. In addition to the wokshop and media areas, there is an adjoining space that is a fully equipped music recording studio and practice area. This space is home to test audiences, a band that 2 of our members are in.
A primary mission of waypoint studio is to offer assistance to local artists with their projects, and we frequently host visiting bands and musicians.
We are proud to have recieved a grant from the Union County Cultural Coalition this year, and we will continue to move forward and expand our facility and the range of activities that it can support.
